Hi, my name is Rachel, and I write things. In the daytime, I work as a professional copywriter/editor. My nights are also full of writing, whether it’s reading books or comics, brainstorming topics for my blog, or jotting down poem ideas.
I am a queer, genderfluid/nonbinary woman who has been writing for a long time. As a child, I liked to make picture books, and as a teenager, I found solace in poetry and short stories. Gerard Way, the singer of My Chemcial Romance and creator of The Umbrella Academy, inspired me to pursue writing as my career.
I have a Bachelor’s of Writing Arts from Rowan University and a Master’s of Education (a concentration in English) from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Teaching didn’t work out, and now I’m going back to my original plan: writing creatively.
I have a history of anxiety and depression, so my poems and short stories tend to be full of angst. It’s a great way to vent. However, not everything is gloom and doom! I like to write about a lot of different topics, especially nature since I am Wiccan.
